At the age of 6 her daddy passed away and her loving mother made the selfless decision to make arrangements for her four children to live in Louisville at the Kentucky Baptist Orphans Home located at First and Saint Catherine Streets.
She then married Robert Williams Sexton on April 4, Bob and Zella had a wonderful life together spending all of their time with dear family and friends whether at the lake, Regina Lane Derby parties, with the Happy Hook-Ups, playing dominos or on a cruise. Zella was the neighbor taking care of everyone.
She retired from the American Red Cross as a nurse in She was a member of the Homemakers Club of Jefferson County and a bridge club. The family wants to thank the loving staff of the Episcopal Church Home for the tender care given to our mother, the angel who will always be with us.
Funeral services and burial were private for the family and under the care of Arch L. Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations in her memory to the Louisville Chapter of the American Red Cross, E. Chestnut Street, Louisville, KY Sarah and Barbara I am sorry to hear of Zella"s passing. I have too many good memories for the space allotted here.
She and Joyce used to have so much fun fishing and we kids loved all the times at the lake and the Derby parties. It all seems just yesterday that we were skiing, fishing and revelling in the great times provided by our parents.

I do remember good times on Regina. We were very sad to hear about the loss of Izella. We have so many good memories of the times we spent in Kentucky and Bay City with Zella.
