At a meeting of the city council planning committee in Liverpool town hall, councillors were asked to consider the application by the Thai massage parlour in Liverpool massage parlour Swan. The applicant, Mrs Chintana Kneen, had wanted the shop Sukhothai at 21 St Oswalds Street to remain open an extra two hours until 10pm but faced objections from councillors on behalf of residents.
However, the first objection heard by the planning committee at Liverpool town hall was from Merseyside Police inspector Colin Hughes. Insp Hughes also said there had been increased calls over anti social behaviour to St Oswalds Street over the last year.
Local councillor Peter Brennan told the meeting he had seen the premises remain open well past the 8pm limit placed on it by the council when the massage parlour was given planning permission last year. By Liam Murphy.
